I didn't realize they even offered free classes in the gym, so thanks. If it is a sea day...I wouldn't mind the 7am cuz I can always go lay out in the sun afterward and take a nap.

Are you sure they are free? I seem to recall many of them they get you to pay for.

There is no star next to it .....the star means fee required!! My fear is l get what you pay for!!! Pilates, yoga and cycle you have to pay, but the others I am pretty sure no.

On a side note how do you get box wine on the ship...is it really possible??? I have seen a few of your posts ...HA!!!

I have found the free classes to be a bit of a bore...more like a stetching and walking session in a group...not worth me getting out of be early for. If you are up anyway, go for it, but I wouldn't set my alarm to make one...

I obsessively save my Fun Times so here's what was offered during our Dec. 2011 Legend cruise.

  • Dec 5 (sea day) - Yoga at 8 am, Body Sculpt Bootcamp at 10 am, Pilates at 3 pm, Cycling at 4 pm...all for a fee.
  • Dec 6 (Grand Cayman) - Stretch at 7 am followed by Abs at 7:30...both free. I went to these two classes and enjoyed them. The stretch was nice and relaxing at that early hour and the ab workout was tough. I definitely felt it the next day. They also offered the Bootcamp class at 4:00 and the Pilates class at 5:30 both for a fee.
  • Dec 7 (Cozumel) - The free stretch and abs class again from 7 to 8 and a yoga class for a fee at 8:30. They also offered a free circuit class at 5:00 which I went to and enjoyed. It was a tough Insanity style workout but the instructor had mercy on us and cut it a little short.
  • Dec 8 (Belize) - The free stretch and abs class again from 7 to 8. I went to the stretch class and skipped the abs class because my abs were still sore from the Dec. 6 class. I went for a walk around the deck instead. There was another free circuit class at 4:30.
  • Dec 9 (Roatan) - The free stretch and abs class again from 7 to 8 and then another free stretch class at 5 pm.
  • Dec 10 (last sea day) - The free stretch and abs class again from 7 to 8 followed by a Yoga class at 8 for a fee. There was also a Pilates class at 3 and a cycling class at 4 both for a fee.

I try to attend as many of the free classes as I can while I am on the ship. I believe the others $10 but between my walking, the free abs and stretch, and the occasional free circuit class, I see no need to pay for the exercise classes.

I usually get up early and go to the gym and walk on the treadmill for 30-45 minutes when I'm on a cruise. One day on my last cruise, I finished just in time for the Morning Stretch. It felt great after the walk. I was ready for breakfast! :D

Can't say I would enjoy it if I had gotten up just for the class. But I know people who do get up and start their day with the Morning Stretch.

To each his own. :)
