bluehenfan Posted April 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2012 I am trying to figure out why Carnival is offering me special casino VIP rates. On my last cruise I spent almost no time in casino. Friends of mine went on their 1st Carnival cruise a few months ago and spent big bucks in the casino. Much more than I have ever spent on any one cruise. They did the same search I did with their past guest # and the results didn't include any casino VIP rates. I'm not complaining. I was able to book my next cruise at a great rate, but I just can't figure out why I'm getting VIP casino offers and they aren't.
Texarribean Chick Posted April 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2012 Perhaps your friends got rated in the Casino the few times that might have attended. We are far from "big spenders" in the Casino; but DH always sits at a pretty high dollar blackjack table and has won quite a bit (enough to pay off our S&S bill of typically a grand) and yet because he never "asks" to be rated - we are never offered any sort of casino VIP treatment/rates/players club perks..............go figure! bluehenfan Posted April 13, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted April 13, 2012 UPDATE - My friends just called me. They went back an hour after checking Carnival special rates and getting nothing other than "past guest" and this time their VIP casino rates showed up ! ! Booked right away before rates disappeared. Thanks for info about asking to be rated. Will mention it to them.( They play table games and slots and when she told me how much they'd spent I almost fainted.) LOL!! elgato2 Posted April 13, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2012 I've been receiving casino promos every few months for the past year or so. I play in the casino every night but only slots...usually just nickels and never spend or win much. DH plays every bit as much or more than I do...plays higher amount slots ...spends more..wins ( and loses) more and plays Blackjack and Let It Ride daily...he has NEVER received as much as $10 in slot play! When we booked our latest upcoming cruise I inquired as to why I do (get the promos) and he doesn't...and was told by two different reps..one from booking and one from players club that it is totally random! Not sure if this is the case but it would explain our situation...
CRUISE4JANE Posted April 13, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2012 OP - Did you go on the Carnival website and click on special offers and put in your PG number or did you get your VIP offer another way?

When i called the Players Club and spoke to Mike about any casino perks we might have for our Jan. 2013 cruise, i also asked him about the casino VIP rate and he told me it was a random thing. bluehenfan Posted April 14, 2012 Author #9 Share Posted April 14, 2012 OP - Did you go on the Carnival website and click on special offers and put in your PG number or did you get your VIP offer another way? I told them to go to Carnival.com and they'd see Quick Search in a blue box on the left. at the bottom of that box it says "advance search" Click on that and fill out form . Last part says "special rate" . you check off boxes that are appropriate - 55+ ? military ? and past guest #. (there is a box to click on if you don't know your past guest #) after filling in all info, hit enter and special VIP casino rates showed up on the various cruises listed. (1st time they tried this they just saw past guest rate. An hr. later they tried again and got great casino rate for cruise they were looking at earlier. Good luck to you.
