Palermo

We have not been to Sicily before so obviously everything will be new to us. Do we need to book a tour when we dock in Palermo or can we just walk from the ship and explore?

When we docked in Palermo we just walked off the ship, crossed the street and we were in the middle of everything. The hardest part was getting safely across the street but, after that, we found Palermo quite easy to walk around.

We took the Hop-On Hop-Off bus in Palermo for an interesting ride.

Just found this link about Palermo. We are going in 2 weeks. Where do you get the hop on hop off bus and what sites are there to see? We went once before and had a wasted day walking all the way to find a public bus to Monreale that was not running. Thanks. ellyn
