BurtonRiderT6 Posted April 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2012 Ok so I'm curious to know if you book a cabin as a single can you simply call NCL if you find someone else to go with you? I'm aware it's based on double occupancy but if you are to book alone and then find someone to go later on what steps are needed and when is the deadline? Thanks for the help. tweekster Posted April 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2012 You sure can add a person up to just a few days before sailing and it is very easy to do by just calling NCL directly. I have done this, or even changed a persons name several times.
peg013 Posted April 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2012 Ok so I'm curious to know if you book a cabin as a single can you simply call NCL if you find someone else to go with you? If you haven't already booked and plan to try to get someone else to join you, I would book for two (use name and birthdate of someone that may go or anyone for that matter) Then before final payment, if you haven't found anyone to join you, you can cancel the second person and still pay the same amount as if you booked for one to begin with. The one problem with trying to add someone later is, if the ship if "full" in your area of the ship for lifeboats, you will not be allowed to add anyone, even though your cabin can hold two or more. I've read it more times than not here on CC, where someone thought they could add someone right up until the cruise date only to find out that they cannot add anyone to their cabin, even with the room to do so. Caution: If you plan to book with a TA, make sure they do not charge for name changes or partial cancellations before final payment. NCL does not charge.
