Rare nellydean Posted April 17, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Calling all footie fans, no need to stay at home if you like your football and can't bear the thought of missing the action this summer: Cruise lines to screen Euro 2012 matches Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises have secured rights to broadcast the 2012 European Football Championships on board their ships. 3:53PM BST 17 Apr 2012Comment The games will be screened in the ship’s on-board bars and on televisions in passengers’ cabins All 31 games of the summer tournament, which begins on June 8 and concludes on July 1, will be shown live on those 11 Royal Caribbean ships which will be sailing in Europe during the competition, which takes place in Poland and Ukraine. Celebrity will show the quarter finals, semi finals and the final on those five ships which are due to visit the region. The games will be screened in the ship’s on-board bars and on televisions in passengers’ cabins. “Often, holidaymakers are put off from going away when the big tournaments are on as they don’t want to miss the action,” said Dominic Paul, vice president of Royal Caribbean. “This way they can enjoy a fantastic cruise and, hopefully, cheer their team to victory.” The ships that will be showing matches are Adventure of the Seas, Brilliance of the Seas, Grandeur of the Seas, Independence of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas, Splendour of the Seas and Vision of the Seas.
