2C - Partly Obstructed Cabin - Silhouette

Hello

We have sailed with Celebrity before and are aware about what the obstructions are on a 2C cabin, however we have recently booked another cruise with Celebrity, this time on the Silhouette, once again a 2C balcony cabin.

This time it is in a different part, we are on the humb, #6240, I am trying to see just how much of an obstrution there is.

When I look at the Equinox and Eclipse photos, it shows a little boat and not the life boat, this is showing at feet level with a clear view looking out.

However on the Silhouette pictures that I can fine, all the boats look slighty larger and the same little boat comes above floor level (which is does not on the other Solstice Classes) which means no clear view when sitting on the balcony looking out at the views.

Please would anyone kindly have any photos they can share or confirm my thoughts.

Many thanks :-)

The "sticky" at the top of this board has the comment "good views, no lifeboats in sight"

Hi Christine

Many thanks for your note, I have had a look and can not find what you are refering to on the Sticky's, They do mention other Solstice class ships and cabins, however not the Silhouette and not about the little red boat I refer to in the pictures, unless I have missed it :-(

Best regards :-)

Hi,

Our children have stayed in 6240 on the Eclipse. There was a lifeboat underneath some of the balcony but all that meant was you couldn't see the sea looking down. It did not spoil anything for us. We choose this cabin deliberately as it was close to the Elevators but not on top of them. It was a great location very near the I-lounge which also suited our young adults needs well. We felt no movement of the boat and have since booked this room again on the Solistice and had a lovely time. Unfortunatly we missed this room for our summer cruise on the Eclipse.

Why 2c , I hear some of you ask. Well we are paying for 4 adults and the saving buys drink packages, a couple of specialist resturants

and excursions.

The Solistice ships are so beautiful we can always find a bar or fab. Place to hang out and watch the sea.

Enjoy.

Hi Christine

Many thanks for your help, however I think I have found what I am looking for now, the photo you show me is not of the Silhouette however of her sister ship, the little boat is lower than the one on the Silhouette, (whos boats seam bigger than her sisters).

Hello Welshfamily - Thank you, we stayed in a 2C cabin 6157 - on the Equinox last year, nothing wrong at all with the 2C's at all, we wanted the same cabin this year, however someone beat us to it, we had a lovely view out to sea, I was not bothered about looking down, so it suited us lovely, and it cost us more than what a lot of people paid for higher a grade of cabin as we were unlucky and got stung money wise...!, I was just wondering about 6420 on the Silhouette as indeed there is a little bit more of an obstruction with this cabin - the little red boat is slighty higher than the one on your cabin and will sadly block part of the view when sitting down, its not a big deal, just a shame its not the same view as on the Eclipse, Exquinox or Solstice. They have slightly changed the design on the Silhouette.....

Heyhoe, yes you are most correct though, we know we will have a lovely time, we've sailed on Soltice before and know what lovely ships they are...... oh yes, the lovely bars, Sunset bar early evening, then the Ensemble bar & Martini Bar after dinner, not to mention the shops, plus a lot more.. I can't wait to get back on a Solstice ship, I am sooooo excited and I'm counting down the days lol :-) :):):):):)

Hello

You mentioned you found what you are looking for... We have also booked this cabin 6240 in August. How much obstruction is there?

Regards

Hi mshelly

We do not have this cabin anymore as we have changed, however this is a lovely cabin, its in a good location, you will love it, its also on a slant so a little bit more room on the balcony.

At the time I just wanted to know about the little red boat as its slightly higher on the Silhouette than what it is on the Equinox, Solstice and Eclipse, not that it matters that much, we were quiet happy to keep the cabin. There is only about 30% of an obstruction, you can sit out on the balcony and look straight out at the view, its only if you stand up and look down you will see a very small life boat, not as big as all the others. Have a look at the piccys some people posted on here.

However since looking at this one we have upgraded to a CC cabin on the Sky deck as the option came up to pay a little bit more for an upgrade.

Hope you have a lovely cruise, its a beautiful ship :-) :):)
