Jac199 Posted April 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2005 Hi, I have a friend who will be sailing on the Voyager of the Seas. She has a couple of questions. Any assistance provided would be greatly appreciated.:) Do they rent ice skates for use? If so is there a charge? Do they show first run (current) movies in the theatre? Does anyone have a sample daily itinerary? Thanks! Janine
jonsmom Posted April 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2005 The skates are free of charge. You must provide socks/long pants. I wasnt aware of a movie theatre onboard. I sailed the Explorer and I dont recall there being one there. They do run movies in your stateroom. Most of the movies are the ones that are now coming to DVD. bobbie0253 Posted April 29, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2005 There is a theater called the screening room on deck 2 or 3. I couldn't even guess at what is playing now....sorry. Yes you use their skates, free of charge :) Bobbie
billyjack Posted April 29, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2005 Hi JAC199 If you bring your oun skates there, you will have more ice time with less people. Tony

Cmc62 Posted April 29, 2005 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2005 Great Information! Is there a restriction on the hours that you can use the ice skating rink? I have 5 girls between age 11 and 16 coming on the cruise? Also does the ship have entertainment on the night in port in Bermuda? I don't know what I can do with the girls at night on the Island. Has anyone gone to Bermuda in Oct? Going on the 10/2 cruise and was hoping its still warm in Bermuda. Also, what time can I get on the ship if it leaves at 5 pm? Noon? Anyone have a sample daily newsletter that shows activities for the day onboard?
bobbie0253 Posted April 29, 2005 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2005 The Voyager has never done a Bermuda iten. before, so no compass exists. :( The ice rink is only open certain hours.Usually 1-4 and 7-9 or something like that. They usually have a time when the rink is open to Adventure Ocean, but not the ship. Adventure ocean is open from 7pm(I think)-10pm with the $5 per hour activities from 10-1am. Hope it helps..... c breeze Posted April 29, 2005 #9 Share Posted April 29, 2005 The movie theater is very small for the size of the ship. If you don't arrive early, you will not get a seat!
sleeples23 Posted April 29, 2005 #10 Share Posted April 29, 2005 Do people really go to the "movies" while on a ship? Do they run movies that are currently out in the movies to make it enticing? My son simply has to know this last one... Do they have popcorn?:o

Cmc62 Posted April 29, 2005 #12 Share Posted April 29, 2005 Thanks for the picture, it is tiny and yes, I go every night or in some cases when it has been raining on past cruises. On other ships they have a movie about 10 or 11 pm, after the shows. I usually go and then check out the casino or the clubs. Norwegian had popcorn you could bring in from one of their pubs. Disney had first run movies. The other boats usually had movies that were just out on video.
lynn m Posted April 30, 2005 #13 Share Posted April 30, 2005 I am going on the voyager May 15 , I think it is the first time that ship has gone to bermuda so I will post a compass than. We have 7 kids in our party so I will let you know what there is to do for the kids at night in bermuda and on the boat.

My son simply has to know this last one... Do they have popcorn?:o Yes, people really do go to the movies on ships! I have only gone to a few, but my husband loves to check out the movies. They are usually those which are no longer in theaters, but not yet out on video. The NCL Dawn, Disney Magic and Wonder have larger theaters. The screening rooms on the RCL Voyager class ships are small and fill up quickly, so if you don't get there at least 20 minutes early, you won't get a seat. My personal feelling is, I can see movies at home!
Cmc62 Posted May 3, 2005 #15 Share Posted May 3, 2005 Thanks I would really like to get your input on the cruise! I want to know what you find out for kids (teens). Also, when you get the compasses. If you can let me know or post, that would be great! Have a great time!!
