rcontent Posted April 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2012 We are taking the RER B train from CDG and need to transfer to a Paris Metro Station to go to Gare St.Lazare for our train trip to Rouen. I believe there are 2 possible Metro station for this transfer: Gare du Nord or Chatelet. My question: which of these two will require the least amount of walking inside of the Metro since we are carrying some luggage. Thank you for your help
SarniaLo Posted April 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2012 Both stations are quite big. I think the shortest transfer will be Gare du Nord (if the plan is then to take the RER E to Haussman-St Lazare?). However the "Haussman St Lazare" station is not directly within the train station, there is a 5 to 10mn walk from there to the train station (but it's outside on the street). Transfer in Chatelet will be much longer, the station is actually two stations combined : Chatelet-Les Halles, where the RER B stops, and Chatelet, where the metro stops, and it's a long walk between both stations (about 5-10 minutes, underground). You then take the metro line 14 which arrives closer to the train station. So I think the total amount of walking is similar, but by changing at Gare du Nord you will do most of this walking outside.
