Short day in Marseilles

Technically we have 9 hours in port, but I'm going to assume a max of 6 or so usable hours given tendering and having a good buffer.

Would it be too ambitious to rent a car and meander through some of the towns, heading up toward St Remy and Baux? Can we properly see that area in the given time?

We're also there on a Saturday, so I'm a little concerned about traffic and parking. Is the timing on google maps relatively accurate?

You should allow at least an hour, perhaps 90 minutes each way for that excursion -- rather a big bite of your limited time in port, in my opinion. Bear in mind, too, that Les Baux is a hilltop village with a single, winding road up to it and likely to get pretty busy at weekends.

In your place, I'd take the shuttle straight into Marseille and take a boat tour of the spectacular calanques - though of course it's quite a different sort of trip. It depends on whether you're dead set on seeing a provencal village.
