Ravenna to Bologna - most economical way?

we'll soon be on a cruise with a stop in ravenna. we would like to know the most economical way to get to bologna and back.

is there is a train or bus? - and where to go first when getting off the ship? the idea would be to end up somewhere in the heart of bologna from where we can start exploring by foot.

thanks in advance!

You can take the train from Ravenna to Bologna; it takes between an hour to an hour and twenty minutes, depending on the train you catch.

The train station in Ravenna (Piazzale Farini) is quite a distance from the cruise port, about seven miles, so you'll need to use a ship's shuttle into town or take a taxi.
