Oasis Casino Table Games

Recommended Posts

Last time we were on OASIS, the minimums for Blackjack were $10.00. I believe Caribbean stud, 3 card poker and Let it Ride were $5.00 miniumums. Craps is also $5.00.

If you are a Blackjack player like me, plan on $10.00.

Thanks for the info, DW and I are 3 Card Poker players and Craps players, we usually play the $10 tables in Vegas and AC so this will do just fine,.

Any info on how to get rated and get discounts in on future cruises.

I play regularly in Vegas, and I am rated at a number of properties. I don't bother on the ships because it's really not worth it. And, if your plan is to play at the $10 level, it's definitely not worth it. Think of the stingiest players club in Vegas or AC, then make it ten times worse. That's what the on board ratings are like.

For the occasional individual who gambles major amounts for several hours on board, it might offer something. But to even get a free drink, it's a pretty hefty investment.

And frankly, I would never gamble on a ship the way I do in Vegas, because the dealers are terrible. I mean, they are nice, but they are really bad at it. Also, the casino just isn't managed to a reputable standard.

My favorite example is the shoes of cards. Go to any land based casino, and the cards are replaced regularly by opening new decks in front of the players, inspecting the cards, shuffling and dealing. On a cruise ship, they replace the decks ONCE A WEEK:eek:. Even worse, when the casino closes, they just pick up the shoe of cards and carry it into the back. The next day, when they open up, back out it comes. No count, no recheck. Now, I have no suspicion that they would intentionally mess with the shoes (really RCI doesn't need to, they already make enough). But combine the novice level of the casino staff with the absence of these normally standard checks and balances, and I just don't have a lot of faith that the game is entirely reliable.

I completely agree about the dealers. On the Freedom and the Radiance they had world's slowest craps dealers (who also had problems keeping track of the bets on the table). Besides, they only had more than 1x odds bets for one night, and then it was only 2x. Cruise is great for other things, but not to play.

PS-the way to get rated anywhere is to play at least $25/play bets for a long time. They'll rate you when they see that. Play $5 for 20 minutes? Have fun, but don't worry about rating. Besides, having "being rated" as a goal for your play is a really bad strategy. Play how you enjoy it, and if they rate you, they rate you.
