Balconies - Carnvial vs. Princess

Looks to me like rooms on Carnival are bigger than on Princess, but balconies are smaller (category 8C on Carnival vs. BD on Princess). Seems like the overall length and width of the cabins are the same, just how it's allocated.

 

Sailed on the Star Princess in March; room was kind of small, but balcony made up for it. Sailing on Liberty in Feb 06; hoping I'm wrong, and that balcony on Verandah deck won't be as puny as it appears - ?

 

Anyone been on the Conquest, Verandah deck? What are the balconies like?
