Help! Diocletian's Palace- What are the hours on Sunday?

Recommended Posts

We will be in Split on May 20 and was planning to tour on our own. When reading the guidebook it seems many things are closed on Sunday, the palace closes at 12 and the Church will be closed in the morning for services. Is this correct? We might have to rethink what we are doing and take a ship excursion. Thanks

the palace closes at 12

This is nonsense. Diocletian palace is not one house or castle, it's a walled town. There is no fee to get in, and thousand (or more) people are still living in. This is why our palace is called "a living monument".

The last holly mess on Sunday is at 11 0'clock, so you should get into cathedral maybe 10 minutes till 12. Many of our shops inside the palace are open on Sunday, and so are museums, restaurants, coffee shops etc. Banks will be closed but there are ATM machines everywhere plus you'll find all exchange offices open on Sunday. Luckily my firm will be closed on Sunday, but you don't need it anyway. :)

Have a great time in my city!
