We were there a few weeks ago on the Dream.

The beach is "ok".

I've seen better and I've seen worse.

They have beach games throughout the day, and you can win t-shirts.

I personally think the beach area is small.

They do have kayaks, inflatable water slides, paddle boats, etc.

The food was blah, to be polite.

Our package came with open bar.

The drinks were strong and always waiting when you were done.

There are shops leading up to the beach.

The salesmen were pushy.

My only real complaint..

The dining area and locker area smelled very strongly of urine.

I'm not sure if it was a fluke the day we were there, but it was terrible.

My mom and I did the Mexican cooking class that is held there at Playa Mia. My husband and kids did the beach there.

Can I get a newly written review of the cooking class? I am currently signed up for that b/c it sounded fun plus the beach with open bar afterwards. But with other options in Cozumel, I want to make sure we are making the right choice. Thanks!! Pics too!!

Did it twice some years ago with Luis and DD did it with him about 18months ago.

Great sense of humor and they keep the drinks flowing nicely. Great fun.

We were at the cooking class two weeks ago today on the Dream.

Very fun!

The class was about an hour and 15 minutes long.

Standing the entire time.

We made a shrimp appetizer (can substitute chicken)

A fish entree (can substitute chicken).

A fried plantain dessert.

They give you an apron and cooking hat.

Luis and Oscar are awesome!

They have any drink you can think up and they keep then coming.

After preparing each course you decorate your plate.

After cooking all course you walk up to dining area, the front is glass and it overlooks the beach. Beautiful.

Your meal is served and the drinks continue.

During cooking they take your picture.

The photo is offered for $12 or $20 with a frame.

We opted for the framed photo.

After lunch we had about an hour and a half to spend on the beach.

Where the drinks continued. :-P

Sorry if my "review" was all over the place.

I typed things as I remembered them.

We did the all-inclusive excursion, and thought it was a fabulous day! Our server appeared whenever our drinks got nearly empty. The food was really good the day we were there. The beach itself was just right, water gorgeous and clear, and there were umbrellas and plenty of shade for those of us who can't stay in the sun all day. Nice pool too, but we didn't use the pool. You can go there without doing the excursion, maybe a little cheaper if you don't eat or drink much. You would need a cab, and then pay an admission fee and buy your drinks and food and take a cab back to the ship. We went on a comfortable air-conditioned bus and didn't need to spend any money - all paid before we left home. Loved it.

We did this also. Myself in mid 50's, daughter in 30s and grandson who was 7 at that time. The beach was small enough to keep up with grandson. Paddle boats were wonderful. We went last October and the food was good and the drinks wonderful. We thought a good deal with the drinks included. Tried drinks normally would not have. We did go to the pool also. We have the cutest pictures there. And, of course, they will do pictures also. I think we bought one for around $10 or 15 with a cute frame.

We enjoy the beach excursions.

Lots here for the kids to do.
