stepha06 Posted May 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2012 So if you were going to surprise or wife, gf, husband or bf with a nice meal just because you love him or her, where ( in the Houston/ Galveston ) area would you take them. I am just. Looking for suggestions on good, non chain restaurants. It can be cheap, expensive, moderate... Or whatever, it just needs to have amazing food, doesn't matter the type either. :) thanks ahead of time.

adira Posted May 19, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2012 I'm not a huge fan of Baba Yaga's, myself. The food is only okay. I recommend Mi Luna, a tapas bar in Rice Village.

CGBCruiser Posted June 6, 2012 #7 Share Posted June 6, 2012 Been to Mi Luna in Rice Village...it was good. It's pretty noisy in there...but we were also there during Happy Hour. In the same neighborhood was El Meson, a Cuban restaurant. We really enjoyed it. A little more quiet, tablecloths on tables, etc. Good food! So many good places to eat in Houston, but I love these smaller venues.

relaxedPax Posted June 9, 2012 #9 Share Posted June 9, 2012 For Italian I like Mezzanotte Ristorante in Cypress. Amazing food & service and perfect date night type place.
