The pier by the Harbor House on Harborwalk is probably one of the best places to watch the ship come in. You might also want to check into staying at the Harbor House. If you are driving you are able to park you car their for a small fee. It is also walking distance to the port.

Drive to east beach and watch it come thru jetties then back to harbor house pier and watch it dock!
robinAustin Posted June 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2012 If you arrive early enough prior to 4pm and have the time; head to Fisherman's Wharf on their back patio outside to be right next to the Carnival Pier 1. You can just have ice tea an appetizers to stall time. The pier by the Harbor House is also a good spot to stand and watch but no cover from the heat. Also you can drive to the end of the seawall Blvd; east all the way to the dead end and watch there. (the area is a bit sleezy however)
Galveston Cruiser Posted June 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2012 The ship can arrive any time between 5 and 6 am so it will be dark. Pier 21 is the best place to watch her come in as she may turn near the pier and back into the dock.
