SPIRIT to ALASKA May 8 - 15 Review ... LOVED IT!!!

This was my first cruise to Alaska!!! But, it won't be my last!!! I loved it!!!!

 

I'm waiting too! You got our ship when they made us disembark. Glad it sounds like you had a great cruise!

 

THANK YOU for coming home!!! It was wonderful and I fell in love with the SPIRIT and it's decor and feeling! Elegant, comfortable, silly, and just beautiful!!!

Once we had our fill, and our cameras were full of scenic overview shots from Kerry Park, we realized we were right above Pier 91... from where the Carnival SPIRIT sails... So we went down to see where that was!

 

Then off to see Seattle! To be a tourist...

 

We split up with a group going on a Segway tour of the city -- which they LOVED. Two hours, right around $100... and rain or shine, they wander all over... even UP HILL and DOWN hill!!!

 

Kent and I wander by foot around... Some Seattle sights...

There is an artist area, where each artist who qualifies, gets a studio to display and sell and a loft to live and work.

 



 

And the little park by the Pioneer building with the totem pole...

Woke up this morning sad, thinking that one year ago today we had just boarded our plan to Seattle for our Alaskan cruise....wishing we were able to go again this summer. Then, found your review!:D Thanks for taking the time to share.

And we walked down to the Pyramid Brewery and sampled some beers and LOVED their garlic fries... OH MY... they were delicious!!

 

 

 

Walking around, while the gang was on their Segway Tour, we found other interesting things... I love to keep my eyes open and just look up and down...

Then we all regrouped and drove over to the water front to meet up with cruising friends from Texas who have since moved to the Seattle area...

Parking in Seattle is a bear... in the tourist areas and almost everywhere. There was a baseball game in the evening, a soccer game in the afternoon, new cruise season traffic and tourists, and just a Seattle crowd out this Saturday... But we found parking and probablyy spent about $50 dollars to park in different places... the public transportation is pretty good... But driving was easier!!!

Great review! I don't mind the Seattle part, the whole thing is part of a cruise vacation, and its nice seeing Seattle pics, since I know someone from there who is always talking about it.

 

I'm a fellow Texan, it would be nice to go on a Alaska cruise for the sights-AND the cooler weather!

Taking the ferry back to Silverdale, we decided to take the more southern one. It would be a different route and view...

 

 

We had two stops on this ferry... So I got to see how it looked approaching the first dock...

Wandering around this ferry, I found the hoist used to lower the boats in the water in emergencies or for maintenance... Just loved the name!!!

A year ago... WOW!!!!

 

I was thinking that on Friday night... A week ago, I was in Alaska!!! We were at a play, the stage was set as a bar room in a brothel... and I said, "I was in a brothel a week ago!!!" ...and I loved explaining that!!!!

Thanks!!! I'm loving my camera!!! It doesn't take repetitive photos quickly, and that's its only drawback! But the clarity and crispness of the photos amaze me!!!

Waking on Sunday... Our schedule and plans took us to the Olympic Peninsula! I can't believe how BEAUTIFUL it was!!!

 

We left Silverdale and headed across a floating bridge. A floating draw bridge... really KEWL... There was fog in the morning,

 

so these shots are from the afternoon.

 

 



 

 

As we looked to our left, or south, we started to see snowcapped mountains immediately. WOW!!! I wondered what we'd see in Alaska, if this is still Washington State!
