Gath Posted May 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2012 We are travelling on the Arcadia on Sunday and have been told to arrive at 2.00pm. Does anyone know if lunch will be available at that time or is it best to eat en route to Southampton. Many thanks
Bobbyjean Posted May 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2012 You can start arriving anytime from around 10:30 am if you want - you might not be able to check in yet but you can get the car parked quickly and hand in your luggage. There's a decent lounge where you can have a drink and wait until 11 or 11:30 at the latest - when you can board and go grab lunch at the buffet. I would suggest eating nothing that morning so you are ready for a big lunch :D Enjoy your cruise!

I have had arrival times of 3pm and still turn up around 11am and am aboard the ship just after noon.

tom_uk Posted May 22, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 22, 2012 I imagine The Belvedere (the buffet) will still be open then. However you don't have to wait until 2pm - they start embarking passengers at noon, and no-one pays any attention to the stated embarkation times. That said, your cabin won't be available until 2 o'clock anyway so there is an argument in favour of arriving then after having lunch on the ay. At the very least you won't feel hungry & stressed when being processed. That first hour, after embarking early with a thousand or so other hungry, stressed people, can be the worst hour of the cruise.
annieuk Posted May 22, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2012 If you arrive about 11.30 you should be onboard by 12.15 and then you can have lunch and by the time you have done that your cabin will probably be ready. If not you can either go and sit in one of the lounges or up on deck until the cabins are ready. We have never found anything stressful about it.:)
