first time cruiser, need lots of help

We are going on a West. Med. cruise, and will be in Cannes, and Marseille

on the 13th and 14th of July. We realized that we will be in Marseille on Bastlle Day. Originally we wanted to go to Nice, but now we are not sure

if things will be open on the 14th. If there are Bastille celebrations everywhere, would we be better off just staying in Marseille? (Also leaves

I see you are new to the board.My suggestion would be to start reading down some pages on this board ASAP to get some idea of what is in and around the ports you will be in whether Bastille Day or not.You may also want to get a guide book to check things out. Also,use Google...you can ask the question what will be open/closed etc as well as check out the area's.Homework is lging to be your best friend righ now.

Thank you for the link. I believe I also read about this. There was no mention of the museums. We have decided to just lay low on Bastille day. It will be a short day and we will make the most of it,
