Gaminer Posted April 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2004 last Sept. when we arived in Belize on the Glory we had a tour booked with Coral Breeze (excellent) . However, we had to wait till almost everyone else (Carnival Tours) was off the ship before we could get on a tender. This caused the whole tour to be behind schedule. Any one had experience with this lately? Has it gotten better? Any ideas how to get ashore earlier? simkoreb Posted April 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2004 I've read about people just "joining" in with the Carnival Tours on the tenders. They would wait until the tours walked to the tenders as a group, then "join" them. Also, people have asked at the pursers desk and they have let them leave with the carnival tours. I also am concerned about this so any other info would be appreciated. It wasn't too much fun when I was tendering in Belize in 2002.
boys2626 Posted April 23, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2004 we just experienced this 2 wks ago on the legend in belize. we were booked on a water taxi to caye caulker w/ coral breeze. my family got on an early tender as if we had a carnival excursion. (we just acted like we knew what we were doing!) our friends who were traveling w/ us got stuck in the mess for more than an hour and a half and almost missed the coral breeze taxi. coral breeze was nice enough to wait for them for an hour. (which really upset another couple on the taxi) carnival needs to come up with a better process for getting people off the ship.
kristineth Posted April 24, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2004 We were on the Glory last September too...as others have mentioned, we just got in a group that was leaving for a Carnival excursion and got on the tender with them...we didn't have a sticker...noone seemed to notice. I know, some people are thinking "bad me"...but we had a trip scheduled with Coral Breezes and didn't want to miss it. Gaminer Posted April 24, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 24, 2004 Sounds to me like we're going to have to just blend in with the Carnival tours and get as early a tender as we can. IMO the Coral Breeze tour is not to be missed, and we don't want to be the ones keeping people waiting like we did last year. Thanks for the input. Guest kernfam01 Posted April 25, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 25, 2004 so when you get off the ship, even if you are going w/ coral breeze, you have to get on a tender right? Then where do you get on the coral breeze boat? Are they waiting for you when you get ashore? I know some tours will pick you up at the boat. Does coral breeze do this? If they do, does that mean I have to wait for everyone else to get on the other tender boats, then I can get on the coral breeze boat? Forgive me, I am confused. I need to know because, for some reason I am in charge of finding out this stuff for our whole group. boys2626 Posted April 25, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 25, 2004 carnival will not let coral breeze tender up to their ships. you will need to meet the coral breeze people at the port in belize. we met them at the flag pole. (they will email you the info)
SueTr Posted April 25, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 25, 2004 we were on the Paradise at the beginning of April. For people who wanted to tender and were not on a Carnival tour you needed to pick up a tender ticket. In the Capers they state what time they are giving the tender tickets out. If you need to get off early I recommend going an hour in advance to wait on line. For Belize we knew we needed to get off early since we had a tour booked with x-stream. We were second in line and got the first tender. They give out stickers with the number 1, 2, 3, etc. Once they finish giving out all the 1s they then go to 2s and so on. Then they make announcement that if you have tender ticket # then you should board. There did not seem like anybody was really checking everybodies tender number because we saw some people with a tender #5 get on our tender. There were about 30 people on the first tender. We were onshore by 9:30. They did this system for all the tender ports. The people who were on Carnival tours had seperate tenders. tjwcs Posted May 4, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Hi, We just returned from the Elation and did the Coral Breeze Shark Ray alley snorkel. We got a tender ticket at 8am. We then just blendend in with a group leaving the boat. Coral Breeze was easy to find and the best excursion we took. tj Elation Cruise
