From the Galveston Daily News:

The Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier will offer discounted tickets as it welcomes visitors for the Memorial Day Weekend in what officials are calling a soft opening.

The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurant, the first one to open in Texas, is ready to open as well and will start serving food on Thursday, Landry’s officials said.

The pier will open Friday at noon and will be open until midnight throughout the Memorial Day weekend. On Monday, the pier will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Pleasure Pier will be open next week as well from noon until 9 p.m. each weekday and 10 a.m. to midnight on the weekend.

As part of the opening, the pier is offering discounted pricing to get on the pier and ride 13 of the 16 rides that will be operating.

Sneak peek tickets for an all day ride pass will be $21.99 for adults and $16.99 for children who are less than 48 inches tall.

Those who just want to walk the pier can do so for $10 for adults and $8 for children.

The pier will also sell individual ride tickets for $4 a ride in addition to the walk-on ticket.

An official opening of the pier will come later, company officials said.
