Anguilla excursions

Recommended Posts

When we stayed on-island, we took the ferry from Margot. It is a 20 minute ride each way and you need your passport. Runs frequently -- every 45 minutes if I recall.

We took a tour of the island using a taxi driver. Interesting but we would not do that again because the tour was mostly visits to very large luxury hotels to walk around the grounds a few minutes. The resorts are, indeed, spectacular and reminded us of top-notch Vegas hotels with a better view and beachfront. Nice, but not what we usually enjoy and far beyond what we usually spend on land vacations.

Went to a nice beach with several decent, and one very good (but expensive) restaurants and good snorkeling right off the shore. Would go there without the tour on the next trip and spend the day.

The beach was Shoal Bay and the (pricy but very good) restaurant we ate at was called Maderian.

I suspect a little internet searching will bring up the info you need for your planning for the ferry service and whether there is also a ferry from Phillipsburg. There are lots of sites that come up with a general search for 'ferry Anguilla St Martin'
