PopNFresh Posted May 31, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2012 To those that have never been to Italy and might be interested in joining two of us on this Nine hour 150 mile Round Trip tour.After meeting at the dock at 8:30 A.M. we will reach Pisa ( 30 minute drive ) through the old Aurelia Way flanked withhundreds of " umbrella" pine trees and a striking view of the Alpi Apuane and the white marble quarries.We will visit Piazza dei Miracoli & the Leaning Tower of Piza We will drive through Piazza dei Cavalieri where the famous Scuola Normale Superiore founded by Napoleon is located.While approaching Florence we will exit the highway and drive through the country side with a typical Tuscan landscape overlooking vineyards, olive groves and beautiful farm houses. Once in Florence the first stop will be at Piazzale Michelangelo, from which you can enjoy the breath;ess panorama of the city while we will tell you about some of the churches, palaces and bridges you are seeing.We wiull then drive downtown and visit the Academia Museum with the statue of David by Michelangelo (prebooking recommended) and or the Uffizi Gallery with some of the greatest painting masterpieces (pre booking recommended). After visiting the meseums you will have time for your favorite lunch and to explore the historical center.Piazza del Duomo with S.Maris del Fiore Cathedral and the Baptistery. Piazza della Signoria and the Old Palace, the Old Brdige with its jewel and gold shops.Via Tornabuoni for exclusive shopping. Finally after visiting Piazza S.Croce and its famous church, we will drive back to the ship.You will be at your ship by 5:P.M. The cost of this tour is as follows; 1-2 persons...cost is 420 euros, 3-4 persons cost is 470 euros, 5-6 persons...cost is 520 euros, 7-8 persons cost is 570 euros. The cost goes down consierably with more people. Tour uses VW Caravella vans or Mercedes Viano vans, sitting up to eitht people including the driver. All cars are air conditioned. So figure it out about sharing the expenses for this tour ..if we can get eight people to go, it will cost 72 euros per person.
