Binti1962 Posted June 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2012 I can't decide if I should buy one bottle or two. If I buy two and we don't finish it all can I take it off the ship or will I have to pour it out? I should mention the cruise is five days out of Boston to Canada. thanks in advance. flounder315 Posted June 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2012 I brought mine home without a problem. They don't check bags as you are leaving.
Carolin Posted June 1, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2012 Yes you can take it off the ship. What you do with it from that point depends on if your driving or flying.
Paratina Posted June 1, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2012 I didn't realize you are not supposed to bring opened bottles off the ship until I couldn't finish my BV Kahlua I ordered myself. OOps....we finish it up now....
JO-TRAVEL ALOT Posted June 1, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2012 We've brought open bottles home. If flying just pack in your checked bag.
lady_cruiser Posted June 1, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2012 We pre-ordered seven bottles of wine one time and brought three home with no problem. But these three bottles were never uncorked. It just seemed that, that year, we had friends buying us glasses of wine at night so we didn't have to open all of our bottles.
Binti1962 Posted June 1, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted June 1, 2012 Thanks for the replies. I'll buy two bottles now! Happy cruising everyone!
Herfnerd Posted June 1, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 1, 2012 Couldn't you order one bottle now and if you need more, order thru Room or Guest Services?
kayhold Posted June 1, 2012 #9 Share Posted June 1, 2012 I would only worry if driving, because its you're pulled over and for some reason searched, it would be open bottle and an automatic ticket. I would make sure its in the trunk.
Sargent_Schultz Posted June 1, 2012 #10 Share Posted June 1, 2012 I am not aware of any law that says you can't carry open bottles off of the ship. As for driving with them, if they are in the trunk it isn't an open container.
