Marrakech

Has any one done the trip to Marrakech.

 

We're due to go to Casablanca but understand that there is not much there, so was thinking about going Marrakech.

 

How long does it take to get there? and is it worth the £64 that Thomson are asking?

 

or do we do the mosque in Casa?

 

Also do both men and women have to be covered up on these trips?

Not done the trip myself but I think that Marrakech is about 2 1/2 hours away from Casablanca. Quite a long drive then with 5 hours on a coach.

We did the Mosque - it was very interesting but we did have a brilliant guide which I think made all the difference. I think you are right to consider doing something in Casablanca though - I had imagined it be be quite romantic and exotic but it was quite a disappointment. The Mosque isn't far from the berth but whether you could do it independently I'm not sure - and of course you wouldn't get all the background and information if you went on your own.

We thought it was amazing! A real assault on the senses. Snake charmers and gorgeous spices. Different cultures living side by side - east meets west. Yes, it's a long coach journey but thy are relaxing and the coach is air conditioned. Stick your iPod on, sit back, relax and enjoy! X

When do you go Runfold? We do that cruise 23rd June.

I've just looked up the trip on Thomson and it actually says it takes

3 1/2 hrs :eek:. So having doubts if really worth it, though I don't know when i'd ever get the chance to go again.

That is the beauty of cruises is seeing places you might not actually holiday at but would like to see.

 

i suppose if i do it I know how long its going to be so would be prepared.

 

Umm still a long way off so haven't got to decide yet.

Wendy,its a long haul.Watched the ones who did the trip get off the coach and they looked ready for their bed..Temps were something like 35/45 degrees a few weeks back
