LYNNF Posted June 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2012 Which airport would be best to fly into from Boston to take cruise on the Splendor in September, Long Beach or LAX?
DEBnGAB Posted June 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2012 Ive done both many times and honestly, I just pick whichever is cheaper at the time and has the best flight schedule. The shuttle to/from the port to either airport is relatively the same (LAX a few bucks more)...

funinthesun1964 Posted June 5, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2012 We flew into John Wayne. We love the smaller airports, easy in and out, less hassles.
riclop Posted June 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 5, 2012 Long beach is much closer than lax to the cruise port.
gone_cruisin Posted June 5, 2012 #7 Share Posted June 5, 2012 Long Beach is a much easier airport to get in and out of than LAX.
avidreader13 Posted June 5, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 5, 2012 Long Beach, LAX or Orange County. Long Beach is nice, if you can get a cheaper flight, as it is a smaller airport. Orange County is also a smaller airport but can be pricey. I have gotten cheaper flights than LAX or Long Beach though flying out of OC. You just need to look around and see. Quilting_Cruiser Posted June 5, 2012 #9 Share Posted June 5, 2012 I've done both LAX and Long Beach--greatly prefer Long Beach! It's much closer and I'm not a big fan of LAX.
ccruisequeen Posted June 5, 2012 #10 Share Posted June 5, 2012 If you're cruising the same day that you fly in, LB is your best bet. A lot closer & less traffic. Day before, you can use LAX, traffic on the 710 can be hectic, but a lot lighter than the 405 *yes, we put "the" in front of our freeways!*

Check flying out of Manchester and Providence-they might have better prices.
