JennyBooms82 Posted June 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2012 Good Morning All, Was hoping someone could advise which would be the best way to do the following. We plan to leave the dockyard and would like to travel down to Horseshoe Bay and Gibbs Light house. From there go to Hamilton to send the remainder of the day. Which bus/ferry would you recommend? This is our first time to Bermuda and I have never just public transporation, so please bare with me... Thanks in advance!!!
SailBadtheSinner Posted June 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2012 The route #7 bus goes by Gibbs and Horseshoe Bay. From the Dockyard, the bus will go by Gibbs first and HSB second. An inbound #7 bus will take you from HSB to Hamilton. A Blue Route ferry will take you from Hamilton back to the Dockyard. The bus stop for the inbound bus to Hamilton from HSB is located across from the access road to HSB and will have a pink bus stop pole. To save walking up the hill from HSB to the bus route, take the van witch is available. In Hamilton, the ferry docks are located on Front Street near the intersection with Queen Street. sept10dsm Posted June 5, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 5, 2012 I ordered a tourist package from the Bermuda Dept of Tourism. Called and had a booklet, map and bus/ferry schedule in a day or 2. :)
flowers44 Posted June 5, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2012 Don't be afraid of the bus and ferry transportation in Bermuda. They do a really good job. If you have questions, just ask the bus driver or any other Bermudian standing around. Everyone is so nice and they will be happy to help you. When you get on the bus, say "Good Morning" and tell the driver where you are going. They will call out your stop and tell you how to find the next bus. They are great. Clancy14 Posted June 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 5, 2012 Good Morning All, ........ From there go to Hamilton to send the remainder of the day. ... Thanks in advance!!! What plans do you have for spending the rest of the day in Hamilton? ALthough a very beautiful town, and the carriage ride is very pleasant, there isn't a lot to keep you busy unles you plan to spend the whole day shopping!!!! ( or eating....but very expensive!!!!). Once you read more, either on Bermuda.com, or one of the travel guides at your local bookstore, you'll be able to map out an itenarary for your stay. You're going to love Bermuda!!!!! - Miriam
