Hotels in Miami and South Beach

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

We are also looking for a place to stay close to the port in Miami the night before and also a place in South Beach...on the beach...for the night when we come back. Hoping some of you will have some suggestions on some inexpensive places to stay. There are too many on the net that I know nothing about so some of your personal suggestions would be fantastic.

Here is a link to the thread where I just posted my review of the Royal Palm Crowne Plaza in South Beach.

Hard to find an inexpensive place on the beach in South Beach area but I thought this was a good deal on Hotwire at $157. Prices on the hotel website for the time I was traveling were a least $100 more for a smaller room than what we had.

HazelSmrf,

Thanks for the link...it's so hard to get any personal suggestions. IS the hostel joined to the hotel? Did you have any problems with the fact that there is a hostel there? Thanks again for your feedback.

We love South Beach, and the atmosphere there on the beach. We stayed in the Royal Palm two summers ago and we loved it. We got a free upgrade to a junior suite, and found the service to be awesome. The location is great, as it was a short walk to Ocean Drive and right on the beach. We found a good deal at their website on the internet. The Royal Palm was sold last Fall, and we were not so fortunate this time around.

My wife is a huge internet shopper when it comes to hotels, and she is always able to find a good deal somewhere. This June we are staying at the Loew's South Beach Hotel before our cruise for two nights. My wife is not a cruise fan, so this was to give her something to look forward to, and to work on her pre-cruise tan a little bit. It is right next to the Royal Palm, and we thought the pool looked cool and our kids would enjoy it more than the Royal Palm's. We found a great rate at the South Beach Magazine website. With our family of five, we are getting two rooms, and it is a little pricey, but as I said, it is mainly for my wife's enjoyment before we board the ship. :D

Royal Palm Crown Plaza... http://www.royalpalmcp.crowneplaza.com/

Loews South Beach... http://www.loewshotels.com/hotels/miamibeach/default.asp

And the South Beach Marriott... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/MIAMB

Are all great hotels directly ON the beach in the heart of South Beach, within easy walking distance to everything you will want to see and do in South Beach.

My wife and I are sailing on the Valor 6/26. We used priceline and booked the Miami Hyatt for two nights before our cruise $56 per night, we also booked the Holiday Inn South Beach Resort for the two nights after our cruise $40 per night.

I just booked Holiday Inn South Beach on Priceline for $55. for Sept. 4. Could have gotten it cheaper maybe but started with that bid. Very please as it looks very nice and is right on the beach...just what i wanted. Tried three bids for DT MIami 45, 50, 55 and all three were rejected for August 27th. I am going to try again in 72 hours. Thanks for all you help...keep me updated.

Have a look at my post for Kissimee/Orlando/Lake Beauna Vista...your info for me so far has been great so keep it coming please...
