We finished up with Bar 10 being the Lido Liner Bar but getting Group pictures by that time was impossible – I even dropped by the Cabin on the way up to the Lido Deck to drop off our Camera.

Can’t begin to desribe how much fun this afternoon was and how GREAT the Carnival Staff and other passengers were. We made sure we tipped the Staff at each Bar we visited

We had gone to the Serenity Area for a drink but the Bar was not open -Vicki is trying to tell everyone to keep it down while waiting for the Elevator just inside from the Serenity Area

I lOVE this picture because there's at least 5 people who weren't in our Group who wanted in the Picture and joined in with us including the Lady wearing White Pants with her legs up right in the middle of the Front Row

While travelling between each Bar we were singing the ‘B-double E double R U-N Beer Run’ song:

B-double E double R U-N beer run

B-double E double R U-N beer run

all we need is a ten and five-er,

a car and key and a sober driver.

B-double E double R U-N beer run

A couple of frat guys from Abilene

drove out all night to see Robert Earl Keen

at the KPIG Swine and Sworea Dance.

They wore baseball caps and khaki pants.

They wanted cigarettes, so to save a little money they bought one off this hippie that smelled kinda funny.

And next thing they knew they were both pretty hungry and pretty thirsty too

They found a store with a sign that said

their beer was coldest.

So they sent in Brad 'cause he looked the oldest.

He got a case of beer and a candy bar, walked over to where all the registers are

laid his fake I.D. on the counter top.

The clerk looked, and turned to look back up and stopped.

He said "Son, I ain't gonna call the cops, but I'm gonna have to keep this card"

the guys both took it pretty hard.

oh how happy we would be-

had we only brought a better fake I.D.

They met another old hippie named

Sleepy John, claimed to be the one from the Robert Earl song.

So they gave him all their cash-he bought em some brews.

Was a beautiful day out in Santa Cruz

They were feelin' so good it shoulda been a crime.

The crowd was cool, and the band was prime.

They made it back up front to their seats just in time to they could sing with all their friends "the road goes on forever

and the party never ends".

Well singing the entire song was the plan but as you can imagine it ended up being just the chorus we were singing. We spent about a ½ hour at each Bar.

The song was written by Todd Snider, who often performs with Robert Earl Keen.

Robert Earl is best known for his songs "The Road Goes on Forever" and "Merry Christmas to the Family".

It was now about 4:00pm so we spent the next several hours Bar Carding on the Lido and Panorama Aft Decks before we decided to stagger down to the Shops and the photo gallery to get all of our Pictures.

Dee, Joyce and Coral decided to Conga Line through the Shops and this Gentleman joined them.

DeeJoyceandCoralintheGiftShop.jpg

We bought all of our ‘Welcome to……’ pictures, our Embarkation Photo and a few Formal pictures including the one of Dan, Coral, Dee and I which we were going to give to Dan and Dee’s Mom and Dad.

We headed down to the Dining Room for our 8:15 Seating with mixed emotions as the last night is about both celebrating the week gone by as well as looking forward to the next time we all get together. We dropped off an envelope for the Maître’d on the way in, took care of some Extra Tips for our Dining Room Staff and our Bar Waitress who had all treated us so well during the Cruise.

We enjoyed our meal, drinks and dessert and all waved our napkins as the Dining Room Staff sang ‘Leaving on a Jet plane’ to the entire room. Some After-Dinner Hugs to our Staff had us heading to the Royal flush Casino for an hour of Slots and Blackjack before it was time for our Final Group Event – the Glowing Home Party in the Red Carpet Dance Club.

Everyone in the Group brings anything that Glows in the Dark for the Glowing Home Party.

Lynne and Peewee were Glowing

GlowingHome.jpg

Conclusion #512: After the day we had most of us could Glow without any props.

Throughout the night people in our Group came and went and the Hugs were exchanged and the Tears flowed. Allen’s mascara looked like it was running downhill it was flowing so fast. This was a GREAT, GREAT Group of Cruisers.

This was our 1st cruise with Pam (2 future Cruises Booked with her), Lynne & Peewee, Donna & Dan, Rick & Laurie ( have cruised with these 3 couples once since and have 3 future Cruises booked with them) Leslie (1 future Cruised booked with her), Gordie & Vicki and Mark & Diane (1 future Cruise booked with these 2 couples) Maureen and Kevin (2 future Cruises booked with them), Shelly and Jimmy (have cruised with them once since and have 1 future Cruise booked with them) and Dan and Coral (have cruised with them twice since and have 1 future Cruise booked) This was our 2nd Cruise with Allen, Tammi (& Karl), Mo & Nicole, Roy, Joyce and have between 1 and 3 future cruises booked with all of them. This was our 3rd Cruise with Terry and Sue and we have 3 future cruises booked with them. This was our 1st Cruise with Don and Mary and with Brian & Candace and our 2nd Cruise with Maria (& David) and Mere, Matt & Ryan and although we don’t have any future cruises booked together YET we do remain in contact on Facebook and remain attached to each other’s lives We wouldn’t hesitate to cruise or vacation with any of them in the future Conclusion #513: WE ARE FAMILY!!!!

During all of the Cruises and Vacations Dee and I have taken the last night always seems to be our latest night – just don’t want it to end and this Cruise was no exception. We closed the Dance Club and just after the they turned the lights on we took our ‘Where In the World Picture?’ for one of the local papers up here. Tammi, Nicole, Mo and Joyxe all live in a town called Sooke – Dee and I work there – and the local paper has a feature where Residents submit pictures of themselves with a copy of the Sooke News Mirror in various locales from all over the World. Once we got back and everyone started posting their pictures on facebook Nicole who was holding the Paper responded with an “OMG you can see my Underwear”

WhereIntheWorldPicture.jpg

We told her not to worry as the : Conclusion #514: The Group saw much more of her at Cabo Wabo.

We spent some time on the Lido for some late night/early morning Pizza, Calzones and Drinks before calling it a night and heading to our Cabin.

We were getting close to Long Beach when we got back to our Cabin.

OHHH!! I look forward to your review of the Miracle...seems we were on her the week before you! I love the Miracle, my favourite ship to date (will be sailing on her for the repositioning to the west coast!). Looks like the Splendor will be alot of fun too and can't wait to find out in September!

Just found this thread and just in time as you are almost finished. It was great to relive such a great trip. I think my favorite was the Bar Crawl on the last day. That was a blast. :D.

Met some great new friends and look forward to seeing everyone again on the next one in January. :p:D

Great job Jim.

So is the Conquest cruise in January with bar card a closed group?

It sounds like too much fun to not ask.

We have one July 21, 2012 on The Carnival Dream, and I am so excited! Even more so after reading about what a good time you all had! :D

Dan & Coral, Mo & Nicole and Tammi & Karl booked their flights once the NHL Schedule came out and were able to fly in a day earlier than us and see their favourite team, the Vancouver Canucks - Conclusion #416: Freakin’ Hindsight. Conclusion #417: Canucks Suck, GO HABS GO - play the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center on the Friday night. Joyce decided to arrange her flights to travel with us on the Saturday morning.

Hahahahahaa! Awesome! This is something we would do. :D

I just started reading, but I'm loving your review so far. Looking forward to good times on the Victory in Oct 2013.
