zink88 Posted June 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2012 We haven't made up our mind yet if we want to take a tour of the Mayan Ruins when in Costa Maya. Are reservations ahead of time absolutely necessary, or will there opportunities to sign up for a tour from vendors as we disembark the ship? LaLoca1958 Posted June 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2012 You should be able to book a tour quite easily upon arrival in port. There are 3 ruins I would recommend: 1. Coba. It's the only ruins in the Riviera Maya that you can still climb the Castillo pyramid. 2. Chichen Itza. A Unesco World Heritage Site. Stunning and massive! 3. Tulum. On the Caribbean, beautiful swimming beach here as well. Entry fees are quite low, and guides are available for hire should you wish to do so. We love this area of Mexico and go annually. Just got back 3 weeks ago, and had another wonderful trip! Cheers, Kat
