sailoruk Posted June 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2012 Have just come back from a wonderful canal cruise aboard the Hotel Barge Lady Teal. From the moment we booked to our disembarkation, all went as it should. If anyone wants to see the Leeds/Liverpool Canal without doing any "hard" work, this is the way to do it. There are two double and one single rooms aboard with full en-suite facilities. Even tho compact there was ample space for all our nick nacks etc. Wonderful feather/down pillows and big fluffy bath sheets, bathrobes, slippers - if needed, Tea/Coffee making and flat screen TV's in rooms.etc. etc. The food that came out of the kitchen - just wonderful. Breakfast - when you wanted it, then Tea and cookies/biscuits at 11ish, a so called lite lunch around "lunch time", Tea/coffee and cake at afternoon tea time, cocktails at "cocktail" time then a four course dinner ably prepared by Gina and served by Nick, seen over by a wonderful little dog - the captain - Lady. If one wanted to do some work, could help operate the locks - some want to others just like to watch. We went from Reedley Marina to Skipton, where we left our car. The weather could have been kinder, but this did not stop us from sitting on the top - watching the fauna and flora and waving to passing barges and walkers along the tow path. Would we do it again - in a heartbeat:D Any Questions I will do my best to answer:)
PennyAgain Posted June 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2012 Thanks for posting. Sounds delightful. I have always wanted to do a canal boat in the UK. By what method did you secure the booking?
