Scants Posted May 6, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2005 Are these 2 places close together? We are thinking of doing the Dolphin swim at Chankanaab National and then going to PB? Would that be really expensive cab ride?
solita Posted May 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2005 Chankanaab is about half way from the pier (Puerta Maya) to PB. The taxi ride should cost approx. $6 one way (per taxi not per person) from Chank to PB. That is a very do-able plan for the day.
teacup754 Posted May 10, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2005 i would look at what time you are in port for the day and what time your dolphin swim is scheduled. it takes a while after the swim for your pictures to be developed so if you want to buy those memories, you should allow at least 45 minutes after your swim before you leave the park... so you'd be looking at another taxi ride(though they are plentiful, it still takes time to pack all your stuff up,ride over to the other place, unpack, look around and decide what you want to do.) and that doesn't leve much time for shopping if you want that also. we were in port around 9am until 7:30. we went to Chakanaab, ate lunch, did some snorkling, had drinks and walked around the park, did the royal swim(2pm).bought the pictures and then went back to the pier to shop for an hour or so.that was plenty for our family which included two teenagers.anything else would have seemed rushed to us..
