beachsands Posted June 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2012 This must be the day for asking about Comfort Inns in the Ft. Lauderdale area. The Comfort Inn I am interested is at 2520 Stirling Road. Has anyone stayed here? I was looking at it thru Stay123.com. It supposedly has free breakfast and free 14 day extended parking. As long as its clean, the roof doesn't leak and there aren't bullets flying around, i am not too fussy. We are looking for a place to stay for one night before our cruise in November. Are there restaurants & stores nearby? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Joel

There is a shopping center around the corner (Oakwood Plaza), and a K-Mart across the street, for last-minute items, and to get any drinks you might want to carry on the ship. Few fast food restaurants at the corner, and a few others at the far end of the plaza (approx .5 mile). Hope this helps
royalcruz Posted June 13, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2012 IMO the best restaurants in the walking area are Hollywood Ale House and Las Vegas Cuban.
imluvncruzn Posted June 13, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2012 We've stayed there a few times in the past. They have a great pool bar! The rooms are average at best with double beds. They also have outdoor corridors. Fine for a one night stay!
patseacruiser Posted June 14, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 14, 2012 OK clean rooms with a great shopping area right behind it. There used to be a wonderful diner in that plaza too
beachsands Posted June 14, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted June 14, 2012 I see that this same hotel is supposed to offer free round trip shuttle to the cruise port and a breakfast as well. I think that i am going to book this place for this fall. I will try and remember to give a report on Comfort Inn South when we get back. I feel its important that members follow up when they say that they will do this, as it really provides more current data on places & events and such. I want to thank all who provided information in helping me make this decision. ~~Joel~~
