Bananramma, Tabayan Beach Break, Mayan Princess

Are these all on the same beach? Anyone have a nicer beach area? Not so terribly crowded? More entertainment?

Yes, all on West Bay beach

 

It is all amazing white fluffy sand and the clearest of blue waters.

 

There are times Foster's end of the beach seems sorta quiet.

 

Bananarama is the party scene.

Mayan has a pool, though I am no longer sure if Cruisers are allow access.

Tabyana has reef snorkeling steps from your lounger.

 

As far as what place I would choose, it would depend on my needs and goals for the day.

where exactly is Tabayana? Is it just an area, and not a resort?

If I take a 3rd party excursion I just want to make sure I end up in that spot, or at least within walking distance.

Tabyana is part of West Bay Beach.

It shares a property line with Infinity Bay Resort.

 

In the photo gallery of the Tabyana Web site is an aerial photo.. the L shaped dock belongs to Infinity Bay Resort... the sand just past that is Tabyana.

 

Tabyana is day use only not a resort.

 

Any driver will know where Tabyana is..there is a huge sign on the road. I am unsure if one can walk in, it may be you can only make use of the amenities by way of ship excursion.

 

If the reason you want to visit Tabyana is cause of the snorkeling have a look at this thread..maps and pics with directions to the snorkeling.

 

Any place on West Bay Beach will be walking distance from Tabyana.

We are thinking of doing a private tour with a stop at West Bay, Tabyana area, for snorkeling. We are not interested in an all inclusive deal so we're wondering if/where restrooms and lockers might be available.

Bananarama and Tabyana both have lockers for rent.

 

If you eat at Bananarama they allow the use of their bathrooms.

They also rent loungers.

We really enjoyed Bananarama. Our family of 8 took a private boat out to the reef. Half of us went diving, the other half snorkeling. I really liked being able to stay together.

I don't think you will be able to use any of Tabayana facilities including lockers unless you have the purchased excursion. It is speciifcally used for cruise lines. However...if off season, I have read here that they might rent lockers to the public. I'd look at Bananarama for rentals.

All those places are indeed on the same beach - West Bay Beach. It is approximately 1 mile long and is gorgeous. Prettiest one there and also, as you can see if the picture, has the most stunning reef.
