Iluvcruising2 Posted July 4, 2012 Author #276 Share Posted July 4, 2012 what is the spoken language on the show and such? For this cruise, the cruise Director was Gordon from UK. So he spoke in English. All the evening shows we watched were in English. The Royal Caribbean singers and dancers definitely sang in English. Iluvcruising2 Posted July 4, 2012 Author #277 Share Posted July 4, 2012 Please re-board the ship asap and don´t stop this picture review...! This can´t possibly come to an end here... :-))) As said before, thank you so much for taking the time. This is by far the best I have seen on cruisecritic in 6 years, which way too often is all about gossip and bashing others that have a different opinion. You have also been a great ambassador here for Singapore..! ;-) This is how this site should be! Balanced yet personal. Thank you ! In Dec 2012, we sail on the Voyager again! I shall take even more pictures. This time, I can be an ambassador for Australia & New Zealand.
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 4, 2012 Author #278 Share Posted July 4, 2012 (edited) Before we end, let me rewind back to Day 1, when we just boarded the ship. Oh how excited we were! The Windjammer desserts just make me hungry. On a cruise, I eat tons of veggies. Oh how fresh they look! Iluvcruising2 Posted July 4, 2012 Author #279 Share Posted July 4, 2012 Day 1 - for dinner, my wife and I went to Portofino. It was really good. We first had Portofino on the Brilliance in 2011. So this is our second time. This time round, we had the coupons from the Platinum C&A booklet which gave us complimentary speciality coffee in any speciality restaurant. Iluvcruising2 Posted July 5, 2012 Author #286 Share Posted July 5, 2012 The risotto main. When at Portofino, you can only order one main each. However, if you ask, they would usually let you order a main portion of pasta or risotto to share too!
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 5, 2012 Author #287 Share Posted July 5, 2012 Dessert. Quite amazing how much we eat on a cruise, compared to when we are back on land! Cruise to eat!
d4nigirl Posted July 5, 2012 #288 Share Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) How much would the Oreo McFlurry cost in the USA? I assume there are regional variations. Based on your conversion of HK$ to USD$, the pricing basically equals out. Might even be slightly (so slightly) cheaper in HK. Depends where one is from. I'm basing mine on New York prices. Would love to do a cruise like this one day! Loved the review! Edited July 5, 2012 by d4nigirl
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 6, 2012 Author #289 Share Posted July 6, 2012 (edited) Disembarkation day. It was still raining. The view of Shanghai Baoshan cruise terminal, from our balcony. Another view from the balcony. We got off the ship and saw this poster in the walkway to the terminal. The poster, in Mandarin, is basically saying that the Voyager of the Seas is the largest ship in Asia. It is within top 10 in the world in terms of size. Capacity of 3840 pax. 310 m long. 1.5 times the size of an aircraft carrier. 3 times the length of a football field 7 times the passenger capacity of A380. You can see from the way Royal Caribbean in China markets the ship - the bigger the better! Edited July 6, 2012 by Iluvcruising2

avalon007 Posted July 7, 2012 #295 Share Posted July 7, 2012 The Portofino restaurant was located beside the Windjammer. The connecting door was opened in the morning, as Portofino was used as the breakfast area for Gold Seapass card holders. Regards this breakfast area for Gold Pass, is that people on the first rung of the Crown & Anchor- ie Gold level? Did it still use the same buffet? Where did the higher level C&A passengers sit? Just curious.:)

Gold Seapass card holders are definitely not the same as Gold level on C&A. :) Gold seapass card holders are only given to guests staying in Grand Suite and above, as well as Pinnacle Club members. To answer your other question, yes the food from the same buffet line. Gold seapass card holders just have an exclusive seating area. This is very useful because the Windjammer does get very crowded in the mornings, especially on Port Days. You may not always get a seat! We sailed LOTS last year we still pefer VOTS.. haha 'LOTS' - are you referring to Legend of the Seas or Liberty of the Seas? Legend is a Vision class ship (70,000 GT) while Liberty is a Freedom class ship (150,000GT). Voyager and Mariner are sister-ships. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Mariner_of_the_Seas Mariner was recently refurbished. I'm quite keen to sail on her!!
