loradora Posted June 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2012 We brought our own on board the Regatta about four years ago but I don't remember how their policy read. Now it reads that they reserve the right to confiscate your liquor and hold it until you leave. Anyone have any recent experience?
loradora Posted June 20, 2012 Author #2 Share Posted June 20, 2012 Never mind, I found the answers in another thread.

Mura Posted June 23, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 23, 2012 They are protecting themselves by saying it could be confiscated ... but as far as most of us here have experienced, they haven't done so. If someone abused the privilege, it could well happen. But if you don't get horribly drunk and make a nuisance of yourselves, you shouldn't have to worry. Balloon Man Posted June 25, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 25, 2012 I recently purchased some whisky in Dublin and carried it onboard in a bag embazoned with "Celtic Whisky Shop". Security put it through the scanner without any comment.
englishlee Posted June 26, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2012 We got off the Regatta yesterday. We took on board 4 bottles of wine in Miami, two in Bermuda and a further two in the Azores. No-one batted an eyelid about it. Our butler supplied the wine glasses (red and white) each day.
doubledobles Posted June 28, 2012 #7 Share Posted June 28, 2012 Just got off the Riviera yesterday. We purchased wine in Barcelona and brought it on board without a problem.
martyinmpls Posted July 11, 2012 #8 Share Posted July 11, 2012 We brought on board wine and Lemoncello and drank in our room. Especially the wine. I have trouble with sulfites, so I prefer to buy in port. As long as you don't flaunt it, it shouldn't be a problem. We just got back from our cruise on Riviera at the end of June. sola7 Posted July 11, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 11, 2012 We bought wine or liquor in nearly every port earlier this month, and no one on Riviera batted an eye. In fact, we bought a bottle of whiskey from a duty free place, and the only comment made by our security screener was whether we got a good price. Were there corkscrews in the cabin for DIY ??? :)
hondorner Posted July 11, 2012 #11 Share Posted July 11, 2012 Were there corkscrews in the cabin for DIY ??? :) Yes -- in the fridge. If it's not there, they'll bring you one, just ask. If you don't have a butler, the room steward will be happy to bring the glasses.
TERRIER1 Posted July 12, 2012 #12 Share Posted July 12, 2012 Were there corkscrews in the cabin for DIY ??? :) The corkscrew is in the refrigerator on the Riviera. Your steward/stewardess will bring you wine glasses and refills the ice bucket twice a day. If the timing is not to your liking, they will fill the bucket when asked. They are really a great hardworking crew. We bring scotch and local wine on board throughout the cruise for consumption in our cabin. The house wines at happy hour and dinner are also very good.
