Pre-cruise stay at FL - Hotel recommendations

Recommended Posts

All good suggestions....Airport and Cruiseport are so close ...just look for a hotel that offers free shuttles and you will have a ball

I would never stay in the suburbs *(where I live LOL)...I know that some of the hotels offer shuttles in Plantation etc but they are far from the beach/action....very everyday everyday stuff out west here

You can get the water taxi from 17th Causeway....there are lots of coupon books and deals too...check it out...

Duffy's is very popular and super affordable, great deals and specials

Waxy O'Connors is a nice Irish pub with a waterview

15th Street Fisheries is another good option...."feed the Tarpons"

You can take water taxi to Las Olas Blvd...almost European feel, very charming, art galleries, street cafes, Mangos is a good choice there, live music, gets crowded

You can take water taxi to the beach....tourists like Bubba Gumps

Beach Place has some real touristy fun things...

You might want to try Mai Kai...old, corny, Polynesian show but really pretty....don't bother to eat there, 2nd rate Chinese food but fun to have a fancy foo foo drink and see the show

You could take water taxi to Shooters...waterfront bar...

or the new Flip Flops which is pretty affordable

look for specials and deals

Look for the tourist guides...the Yellow Cab guide has lots of free drink offers

there is another "guidebook" at all the hotels with lots of 2 fors and free drinks

This is THE place for deals and freebies :D:D

right now many things are 2 for 1 on our tourist website

http://www.sunny.org/supersummer/

they have more "Lauderdeals" for hotels/cruisers too

Just about anything..and I mean anything...that you find at the islands is available here...sometimes cheaper and frankly better/safer IMHO

like...jetskis, parasail, segways, glass bottom boats, snorkel, and so on

The beach is beautiful and free...and not spoiled by high rises as our laws have kept the hotels and restaurants across the street (AIA)

Just be sure to get a hotel near the airport/cruiseport

Have fun and do check out the florida forum here with port info
