Another Non-Formal Night Question.

Hi again! My DW wanted me to ask this and I haven't been able to find anything on this. We are starting to pack for our 5/23 cruise. She wondered if a nice skort (non-denim) would be appropriate in the dining room on resort casual night. From the front it looks perfectly like a rather nice skirt, but it is obvious from the rear they are shorts. (But hey, no one should be looking at my DW's rear, right?) I thought best to save it for another time and wear capris or dress pants, but she insisted I ask the experts.

Hmmm.... what is the length? Most skorts I have are pretty short... and I don't think they would allow them in the dining room, as they ARE technically shorts... I have never seen them in a longer version, but I would think if they are longer, they might work. I guess it really depends on how much the Maitre'D decides to enforce the rules... She may be fine, depending on what the skorts look like... but I personally would save them for another time and wear the capris... but that is just me :D

;) I think you thought right, Don! Tell her to take the advice of her wise DH. I think skorts are a little too 'short & sporty' for the dining room. (Actually, I didn't even know they still made skorts.)

Thanks! It is actually knee length, and does look rather nice. But I do agree it is sporty for another venue.
