Geiranger.. should I book the bus tour up the Mt. Dalsnibba in advance?

Recommended Posts

We will be in Geiranger on 7/27 from 9 am to 11 pm. Should we book the bus tour up the mountain before we leave or can we do it when we get to the port that day? We are not sure we would be that wild about going up there if we are fogged in. Just wondering what everyone thinks. Thanks.

Are you referring to a particular vendor's bus tour that you specifically are looking at? When we were in port, we drove up to Dalsnibba, but it was just one stop of many on an all-day bus tour. The weather wasn't great, and Dalsnibba was mostly fogged in, but the rest of the day was still very enjoyable -- albeit not the best weather. In fact, even though I didn't get the post card view that we all hope for from atop Dalsnibba, it was still interesting to see what we could see and the drive up itself was fun. You have a long day in port. I hope you're planning some other things as part of your day too. I should add that I used a Celebrity cruise line excursion since I didn't have much pre-planning time to look at alternatives.
