munchkin002 Posted June 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2012 Does anyone know or have an opinion about the beverage package that is offered to groups only. my understanding is that the cost is 46.00 per person per day, everyone in the group must participate. This covers all house liquor. Do you think this is a reasonable price? Would you be willing to pay if you were part of a group cruise? Thanks for your thoughts!:)
bakerintn Posted June 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2012 There are two packages, as described here: http://www.events.ncl.com/assets/documents/13780GroupBevProgrREV3.pdf For me, I might have 5 beers a day, one wine with dinner and maybe two pre-dinner cocktails. That would add up to about $49. Note that the alcohol packages are not available during spring break period (March 1 - April 15). Also, the group minimum is 20 passengers who are of legal drinking age, so those under 21 don't count for the 20 minimum passenger requirement. JWinKC Posted June 29, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2012 We are moderate to slightly heavy drinkers when on vacation and averaged about $50/day each in drinks on our last cruise. This was with a casino drink card that saved the cost of at least 10 drinks between us and taking advantage of martini, margarita, and beer tastings, giving us a lot of buzz for the buck. If we didn't have the casino drink card, it would be a no-brainer. Even with the card, we still would have come out about even buying the package. I suppose you may also consider how port-intensive your cruise is. If you have 3 of 7 days at sea and will average at least 6 or 7 cocktails a day, it sounds like a bargain. I would take full advantage of that if I could.
