tahitidreamer1 Posted May 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2005 I have a light gray suit, will it be ok for formal dinners or do I need to buy a dark suit ? We will be on northbound Alaska cruise in June on the Ryndam. Hope not to get thrown overboard for not being in a dark suit.
Wennfred Posted May 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2005 The Light gray suit will be fine. I saw a lot of light color suits my last cruise on formal night.
peaches from georgia Posted May 9, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2005 Once HAL started calling a sport jacket 'formalwear', I think any color suit would be fine. Enjoy your cruise. :) From the HAL Formal Night Dress Code: (Gentlemen: Although business suits or tuxedos are suggested attire for formal evenings, they are certainly not required. You are welcome to wear a jacket and tie on formal nights.)
localady Posted May 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2005 A light gray suit would be fine!:) When we've cruised Alaska on HAL ships, we've been amazed at the informality of the cruisers. A light gray suit would be acceptable on any HAL cruise for formal night (Except possibly the world cruise) IMHO.
dakrewser Posted May 9, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 9, 2005 If a white dinner jacket is acceptable, then a light gray suit certainly is...
