Review Glory to Canada out of Boston 6/23/12-6/28/12

I must start this review by stating that this was my first cruise ever, and I have nothing to compare it to. I spent a few months before the cruise reading posts in this forum, which was very helpful.

embarkation was a breeze. Our chartered bus from Connecticut arrived at The port of Boston about 12:10 pm and we were at the bar having out first drink 25 minutes later. I was so surprised because I had read horror stories about embarkation in Boston.

Our cabin, 1023 on deck 10, which had a balcony, was larger than I imagined, and there was plenty of closet space for two people's clothing. I am a bit claustrophobic and thought this would be a problem, but the cabin felt spacious.

I was amazed at how large the ship was. everything seemed clean and in good repair, and the decoration was not gaudy as I expected it would be. the only problem with the ship is the lay out as you can't go fore to aft on decks 3 and 4. We were always going to 5 and walking through, then walking down stairs.

The weather in St. John was cloudy and in the 60s. We didn't have any excursions planned, but just walked around the city which is very hilly, and stopped in a few pubs.

The seas were a bit choppy the night between St. John and Halifax, and you could really feel the ship sway.

The weather in Halifax was pouring rain and foggy, so we decided not to get off the ship.

through out the cruise we spent a lot of time in the casino, but did catch a few shows, which were OK.

We went to the steak house Sunday night, and were so impressed that we went back again. Definitely worth the $35 per person.

Debarkation went smoothly.

We had a very enjoyable time, and I will definitely sail with Carnival again.

Forgot to say that the staff was terrific. Very friendly and attentive. We had any time dining and ended up at the same table every night.

never saw any rude or disorderly passengers, and the kids we did see were well behaved.
