Whale sharks in Belize?

I have read in my diving magazines that Whale Sharks are known to be in the Belize ares during a full moon. Just wondering if any other divers have ever seen them there? I will be there during the full moon in May and really hope to see one while diving. That would be awesome!

I am going to Belize next week and from what I understand, the whale sharks feed in the evening, and they are not in the area of Belize City and Ambergris Caye, where the cruise ships are. They are hundreds of miles south near Placencia - closer to Honduras. This is why I chose to do a land trip versus a cruise.
