DH and I are booked 2 nights at the Hilton Island Resort. Are there any "must eat" places near by? We are not big on Seafood but anything else we will try. Hole-in-the-wall places always seem to be the best!

There is this place called Michael Burger. Nothing fancy (at all), but probably the best burgers on the Island. I always go when im around.

Yes it should be included on the list.

Not left off for any reason.

Just overlooked!

It is west of where Seawall ends to the west!

and if you want a really special treat, I would recommend Shearn's. It is a fine dining restaurant atop the Moody Gardens Hotel. The food and service are wonderful! The chef is formerly of the (now closed) Bob Smith Yacht Club. My votes would go to Shearn's or Rudy & Paco's for a really special meal in Galveston ---- and I live here!

Aww, I'm sorry to hear about the Bob Smith Yacht Club closing!! We grew up dining there all the time with our grandparents, and it was a wonderful place. Best French onion soup and filet mignon I've ever had to this day. Glad to hear the chef is still around, though!
