Parking in Seattle while cruising

When we took the Westerdam 3 years ago, we parked at the pier/dock. It seemed expensive, but we were splitting the cost with another couple. We're thinking of an Alaska cruise next month and are wondering if there are any good insider tips on alternate/less expensive parking. I'm looking into some hotels that will keep the car if you spend a night there, but I'm wondering if they will shuttle you there (and pick you up) in a courtesy van or if you have to pay a taxi. Some of the wording in their ads are somewhat ambiguous. Any insight will be appreciated.
