Halifax - Anyone use Nova Scotia Tours for Lunenburg?

Recommended Posts

Lunenburg is tiny. You can walk the waterfront and a couple other main streets on your own. Lunch at Magnolia's would be my first choice but there are many other restaurants. You could rent a car and go there yourself.

I have heard nothing about Nova Scotia Tours.

Has anyone used this tour service and done Lunenburg?

Do's or don'ts for tours to Lunenburg?? How about best restaurants there?

Maryann has given you lots of info and yes Magnolia is great especially the fish cakes-!!! there is a thread going around for best lobster rolls and Salt Shaker Deli has gotten quite a few good reviews.

Here is a thread for Lunenburg tours specifically from earlier this year

We did a fabulous tour last year with Halifax Cruise Ship Taxi Tours it was excellent very knowedgeable guide re history and all the popular sights.

We took the main highway down and then the coast road back.Very relaxing never felt rushed and for us far better than driving on our first visit. We locked in with the weather had great lobster lunch and fresh mussels on the deck at Rope Loft in Chester. ( We were in Lunenburg early

so did not have lunch there then)

We have been to Magnolia a few times since and always very good also Fleur de sel for evening dining.

Hope this helps and you enjoy your tour and visit whatever you decide.

We loved picturesque Lunenberg and enjoyed great lobster at the restaurant by the museum. Booked through NCL for excursion so not sure which company but our guide was Munden and he was fabulous. Also stopped at some other little towns that day. Great trip

Suitcasefull, if you are still around can you answer some questions about this? We would like to go to Lunenburg and try to avoid ship tours whenever possible but aren't having much luck finding others to join us on a private excursion. How much of the tour was guided? Was there a lot of free time? We are more interested in transportation there than having to follow a group around for the better part of the day.

I have booked Van Tours of Nova Scotia for a 6 hour tour of Halifax and Luenburg (http://www.nova-scotia-van-tours.com/). There are 11 people in our group and Dave was so very helpful in helping us set us this tour with 2 six passenger vans. We are on a 14 day Holland America New England & Canada cruise. We will tour Lunenburg and the entire costal drive that features Peggys Cove, the town of Mahone Bay and many of the surrounding features of Lunenburg itself. Lunenburg has been designated a U.N.E.S.C.O. world heritage site and for this reason attracts many visitors.

Van Tours of Nova Scotia has received excellent reviews from TripAdvisor as well as other internet sites.
