poohs4me Posted July 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2012 Currently for the cruise we are looking at, we have a couple of choices in balcony rooms and I need some help 1) Lower cateogory balcony but we would be in the aft (not a rear facing room) on a high deck about 2700 (for two - I am rounding) 2) A higher category balcony midship 3000 3) Guarantee Deluxe Balcony (3300) I don't know if it is worth it to go for the Deluxe Balcony or if the lower category would be fine. The nicest we have ever stayed is a D1. Is the potential for a suite worth 300-500?
MrCruzeaddict Posted July 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2012 1st thing that I would ask is what is your "comfort Level"? I do GTYs a lot as I really don't care where I'm at, but some people DO! A GTY means that you will get a cabin of at least the catagory that you booked. You MIGHT get upgraded, you might not. Check the deck plans to see where the DLX balconies are located. Are you comfortable with that? I have been "upgraded" a few times. Twice good, the other..not so much. Sometimes an "upgrade" is simply the same cabin on a higher deck. That's really no upgrade to me. If you are concerned with cabin location, then choose the exact cabin that you prefer.. Joe<----My 2¢ :)
