My husband and daughter want to visit some ruins. Carnival Dream will be in port from 8-6. Would they be fine taking a nonship excursion to Lamanai Ruins? Any information or advice would be appreciated.

I'm usually a do it yourself kind of cruiser, but we did this one through the cruise line. It's a long trip with many opportunities for things to go wrong. However, iirc Carnival isn't offering this excursion anymore and others have been booking through private companies...just make sure you use a reputable company.

Have to agree with Bill from Florida! We loved it. The guide was awesome, the food was good, the boat ride was windy, the monkeys were so cool, and the ruins spectacular. We never book our excursions with the boat. So far, so good! Enjoy!! :D
