babylene Posted May 8, 2004 Author #26 Share Posted May 8, 2004 Hi Jag! I forgot that there are 2 dates. We, also chose the June 20th. Which did you book, Sleddogs? Welcome to Montreal! Any questions...fire away! What's the name of the B&B? Old Montreal is delightful in the summer...and Quebec City is special, too. Last summer we stayed close to home, went to Q.C. and on to the Charlevoix area...absolutely gorgeous scenery and fabulous food! We took a day boat along the Saguenay River to see the fjords and lots of whales.
aagra Posted May 8, 2004 #27 Share Posted May 8, 2004 Babylene, We are staying in Auberge Les Passants du Sans Soucy. Friends of ours stayed there last summer and really liked it. They said that first floor has an art gallary and the breakfast were home cooked and delicious. I don't know much about the Charlevoix area but have heard that the Saguenay River is beautiful. We hope to make it out to Ste-Anne falls. We love to dine outside in a good bistro, so if you have any recommendations would love to hear them. babylene Posted May 8, 2004 Author #29 Share Posted May 8, 2004 There are so many good restaurants. On a nice day, especially during the weekend, Les Jardins Nelson is lots of fun for lunch (I have never eaten dinner there) It is an enclosed area and they have music. But, if you have a car, you can go to other areas. (And if you don't have a car, you can take the metro). Rue St. Denis is fun. I'll think of some places and give you suggestions. Also, Fodors has lots of Montreal restaurant fans. It's a good site to check out.
Sleddogs Posted May 9, 2004 #30 Share Posted May 9, 2004 Hi Babylene and Aagra, We are sailing at the end of July. June is too early for us as my hubby teaches and school is not out until third week of June (depending on how many snow days they have to make up). Our anniversary is in early August. For the Jewel we've booked a corner aft cabin on Deck 9. This balcony is big, but I can't compare to Summit yet as we are only sailing on her in August. I will still be anxious to share information and ideas with you about Jewel for next year. I am always so grateful for the information on these boards. Babylene, it sure is a small world. I love the shopping in Montreal, especially the "underground city". We have also visited the Casino du Montreal as well. Wish you were on our sailing, but will look forward to your posts. babylene Posted May 9, 2004 Author #31 Share Posted May 9, 2004 Hi Sleddogs! Sorry you will be on "the other" sailing! We will have to compare notes, nonetheless. Also, you will benefit from our reports! Isn't it funny how we all love to shop somewhere else? Did you leave lots of money at the Casino or were you lucky? I stick to lotto tickets, but have yet to win more than $10.00. Happy Mother's Day!
bob278 Posted May 9, 2004 #32 Share Posted May 9, 2004 FlJudi, I sent you an e-mail. Let me know if you don't get it. It's long, sorry. Bob
Sleddogs Posted May 9, 2004 #33 Share Posted May 9, 2004 Babylene, Happy Mother's Day to you too! We always seem to leave money at the casinos! But we have fun nonetheless. We just hope Summit has a lucky casino for us in August!
