golfadj Posted July 30, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 30, 2012 Dont believe you can and besides given the cream and eggs and butter lots of fat calories so not sure there would be a point.
wrigley80 Posted July 30, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 30, 2012 They are unable to make sugar free WCMC. My dad is a diabetic and we asked on our last cruise in March. They always have a diet cake option that is quite good
ccruisequeen Posted July 30, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 30, 2012 I loved the Sugar Free Orange Cake- they also have sugar free ice creams. As golfadj said, its the butter and eggs that are the fattening part- diet butter & egg substitute?

Froufie Posted July 30, 2012 #8 Share Posted July 30, 2012 Can someone tell me what type of sugar substitue is used in the diet desserts? Is it splenda or equal or sugar alcohols (e.g. maltitol, sorbitol) or something else?
bakechef Posted July 30, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 30, 2012 There are so few ingredients in this dessert that each one plays a crucial part in the end result. You couldn't just replace the sugar with sugar substitute and expect a similar result. The sugar plays more than the role of sweetness, it contributes to the texture. Thanks for the info - that is good news (if you have ever eaten sugar free stuff made with sugar alcohols I"m sure you know the 'troubles' one might have if consumed in any great quantity!:o)
